NO MATTER WHATONLINE PILATES MAT CLASSES BY THE LIFT GIRL www.liftgirlpilates.com Two things… People who practice Pilates and people who live in Seattle have something in common. They both have the NO MATTER WHAT mentality. Let me explain. Seattleites love their GREENERY, MOUNTAINS, GLACIER CARVED LAKES, OCEAN, and COFFEE! You know…WE HAVE IT ALL HERE IN SEATTLE! (Side Note: If you love coffee–and I mean REeeeeeAL coffee–then perhaps Seattle should be your next stop! Our coffee shops really are the best. Not only that, but it’s just plain cool to drink coffee in Seattle. But back to the subject…) Here’s the deal though. If you live in Seattle, you had better be strong inside. You have to be…to endure the rain and not let it keep you from doing the things you love. IF you do, you’ll end up sitting inside a lot! When I first moved here and experienced my first day of rain, I thought for sure all activities would be canceled and we’d have to sit around waiting for the next day to venture out. Well, the forecast predicted a week of rain; so we put on our Gore-Tex and ventured out anyway…no matter what. I noticed that everyone else had the same plan. People were still out and about! It was clear to me that these very strong-willed people don’t let a little thing like rain bring them down or keep them in hiding. They simply gather themselves up and forge ahead with their plans. I like that. That’s probably why I like Seattle so much. It really is my favorite city in the world. I love living here. Now people who practice Pilates too are strong, but in a different way! Not only are they strong in their extremities, but also inside-out, upside-down, front to back, and side to side! To do Pilates correctly, you gotta be! Pilates People share in the mindset of no matter what, too. We know how to organize our musculature to do every exercise efficiently. People who practice Pilates also organize their lives well and are aware of what’s happening right here and now. I like that. It’s one of the main reasons I practice Pilates. So…the moral of the story? Drink good coffee and practice Pilates! (Did I tell you how much I love Seattle?) Bye for now! Posted on September 27th, 2010![]() |
